- Quick Entry with Context. You need to set a keyboard shortcut in the preferences window first
- New menu item for "Due Today". Keyboard shortcut is shift-T.
- New keyboard shortcuts for raising and lowering task priority (; and ')
- Added a menu item to open links in notes. Keyboard shortcut is "V". Shift-V to open in background.
- Added "Copy with Notes" menu item. You must hold down the option key to see it
- Improved "Create Task" system service to use the context of the active application
- You can show and hide the sidebar now

Changes
- No longer Mac OS X 10.5 compatible. Requires Snow Leopard or Lion and an Intel based CPU.
- The app is now signed with Apple's Developer ID in preparation for the launch of Mountain Lion
- On systems with a discrete GPU, use the built-in GPU if possible to perform animations
- Improved recurrence rule parser to recognize partial words such as "tues" and "decem"
- Show the entire notes field when adding a task through the Quick Entry window
- Use a bullet unicode character instead of a dash as prefix when copying tasks
- When copying completed and canceled tasks, use the "√" and "x" prefixes
- When copying just one task into the pasteboard, copy just the task text, omitting any prefix

- Don't bring The Hit List to the foreground after adding a task through the services menu
- Improved automatic library cleanup process
- Save any pending data first before syncing when forcing a sync manually

- PowerPC Macs are no longer supported. With Apple's development tools having deprecated PowerPC support, it was hard to continue to support it.
New Features
- Sync over the air with other copies of The Hit List running on Macs and iOS devices
- You can now archive lists instead of tasks. Tasks in archived lists are not included in smart folders.
- Today list's icon now shows today's date
- Spotlight search support on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and higher
- Added a preference to control when tasks get automatically hidden
- Detect addresses and phone numbers when editing task notes
- Control-tab and control-shift-tab now changes the current tab
- New keyboard shortcuts for selecting the next and previous items in the source list: ⌥⌘[ and ⌥⌘]
- When multiple tasks are selected in tasks view, indent and de-indent tasks by pressing tab and shift-tab
- Task's actual time can be edited in the inspector view
- You can now click on the example in the repeating task pop up editor to get more examples
- AppleScript support for timing tasks
- When turning on iCal sync, you can now back up your iCal library at the push of a button
- Keep backups of the most recent 5 saves and one for each of the last 7 days inside The Hit List library bundle
- A copy of the upgraded library is now placed in "~/Library/Application Support/The Hit List/Previous Libraries"
- New Safari extension that allows adding tasks from Safari. Text selection in Safari goes into the notes of the new task. Get it from here
- Create tasks using URLs with 'thehitlist' scheme. See the README inside the Safari extension to see how this works
Changes
- Existing library is moved to the Trash after restoring from backup instead of being deleted
- When sorting by list in a section, show the Inbox at the top of the section
